The Garage School is looking for the following volunteers on a regular basis:
Teacher’s Training:
We desperately need teachers to train our teachers on one – one basis. They must be taught the right way to make lesson plans, syllabus, how one should take classes or deal with a difficult student, etc. Most of our teachers belong to the same class as our students and though they are good at what they do, with some training, they will perform even better and thus paid higher!
Computer Teacher:
Need a part time computer teacher to teach the students of our Matriculation (Grade 10) programme for two hours between 3 pm and 7:30 pm, every day or at least thrice a week. These students will sit for their Board exam in March / April and hence we need the computer instructor urgently.
Medical Specialists:
We need the following medical specialists to volunteer on a rotation basis every month:
- Dental Specialists / Dentists
- Eye Specialists
- ENT Specialists
- Gastroenterologists’
- Pulmonary Specialists
- Cardiologists
Coming in once every month or as required and carrying out regular check-ups of the students, these doctors are invited to join our medical board.
Arts and Crafts:
We need a volunteer to teach them basic crafts which can help them earn money. Following are the areas where we need help:
- Block Printing
- Weaving
- Grooming
- Tie and dye
- Cooking
- Beautician Course
- Embroidery
- Patchwork
- Crochet / Macrame
- Screen Printing
- Paper Mesh
- any other craft work that can be useful for our students to earn their livelihood.
