Success Story – Parveen; student of our Adult Literacy Class

Parveen in Shireen Jinnah:
“My biggest success story has to be Parveen who was a maid at my sister-in-law’s house and joined the Adult Literacy program.” says Shabina. She picked up everything that was taught in the school and how it operated. She went back to her house in Shireen Jinnah Colony and opened up a school to teach the children of her area. Currently she has around 22 students! She even picked up the school’s sponsorship program. By writing a letter to the Orangi pilot project she got herself a loan to cover her open corridor with a shade and that’s where she teaches her students. Not only is she teaching her own kids but she has taken up the responsibility to teach the children from her colony… and that is the biggest story to date.
