Every month The Garage School (TGS) pays Rs 120,000 ($1395) as rent for its existing campus. Up to 400 students are cramped in a 3600 square feet space. On average 90 students are enrolled annually in TGS, further creating a shortage of space. We need to expand immediately!
The older students of The Garage School were invited to Pearl Continental Hotel on the 18th of February, 2012. This was to expose them to various jobs that would be available to them if they finished 12 years of education.
Rabi-el-awwal is the month of the birth of the Holy Prophet, Muhammed (p.b.u.h). Mehfil-e-milad is an evening of praise for Muhammed (p.b.u.h) and The Garage School celebrated it with utmost fervor on 17th February, 2012 at the first Garage School.
Organized by Ross Mintzer, a saxophonist, who volunteered at The Garage School for four months, his concert included the girls of The Garage School.
Ross Mintzer, an American musician was in Pakistan between October and February. The Garage School was lucky to have him work as a volunteer during these months at the school.
